  1. InfView v1.30 (10/21/93)

  3. InfView is a general purpose Windows File Viewer allowing you to view
  4. ANY size file in either ASCII or HEX mode.  Features include searching,
  5. formatted printing (ie: source code), execution (directly or by association),
  6. file identification, Clipboard functions, Line Translation to Hex and much
  7. more.  Uses less memory than other viewers while providing comparable
  8. functionality.
  9.  
  10. This Version introduces HEX EDITING of files while in Hex mode. This optional
  11. feature allows you to simply modify any file by editing the Hex values
  12. and then saving the file.

  14. This Version also introduces Disk/Network Search capabilities:
  15.   - Search for Files (using name/extension & wildcards).
  16.   - Search for Words within files (like GREP!).
  17.   - Scan a Directory for all files.
  18.   - HotKeys to load Previous or Next file from the search list.

  20. To Install:   From Program Manager Run A:SETUP
  21.               You will be asked to Confirm your SOURCE directory.
  22.               You will be asked to Confirm or change the Infview Destination.
  23.               Decide on the optional Hex Editor feature.
  24.  
  25.       InfView will require 150k (that's it!) on your hard drive
  26.       and there are no memory or configuration requirements.

  29.       features of InfView.

  43.   1. Correct menu offset problem on Last 3 files.

  58.      sub-menu under 'Files'.  Identifies files and shows File size & date.

  61.      select the Font for the Viewer. Font name and size are saved in INI and

  76.      heading and are loaded the next time InfView is invoked.
  77.   4. List of file extensions and descriptions were moved from being hardcoded
  78.      to a dynamic list within the INFORMER.INI under EXTENSIONS heading.
  79.   5. The last 3 files viewed are saved and displayed under the FILES menu
  80.      option and can be loaded directly from the menu.
  81.   6. You can save a range of lines to a different file name in Ascii or Hex.
  82.   7. The REPEAT search menu option can be invoked using the F3 key.
  83.   8. Menu option was added to expose editing characters in the viewed file,
  84.      this includes CR,LF,TAB, etc...
  85.   9. Menu option was added to translate all non-visible characters to the
  86.      ' ~ ' character for the viewed file.
  87.  10. The size and position of the InfView window is remembered between
  88.      viewing sessions so that it will be brought back in the same spot when
  89.      it is next invoked.
  90.  11. The File IDENTIFY menu identifies the type of file and also attempts to
  91.      determine if the file has any Windows associations on record.
  92.  12. InfView HELP was vastly expanded.
  93.  13. The Status line shows the Line Number and Starting offset of the line
  94.      that is currently highlighted.
  95.  14. All Print Request options are stored in INFORMER.INI under the PRINT
  96.      heading and are recalled each time Print is invoked. (also shared with
  97.      other applications).
  98.  15. In Ascii view mode, double clicking on a line in the viewer will display
  99.      the Hex translation of that particular line.
  100.  16. A Hex Translation Table was added to the Online Help for reference.
